Tonight we made the long trip to face Albion Rovers in the last 16 of the cup. After our last league game against Albion, the lads were determined to get a better result and this showed with early chances from Shayne Adam and Alfie. However it was Albion who struck first with a well worked goal to give them a well deserved lead. Raharney responded straight away when Alfie played a side rule pass through to Kundai who kept his composure to finish well for his first goal for the club. The second half started very even with both teams having chances but after a through ball from Shayne wasn’t dealt with by the Albion defence, a bad back pass ran past the keeper to give raharney the lead. Both Kon Jack and Adam all had chances to wrap up the tie but Albions keeper kept the score at 2-1. Albion pressed hard for an equaliser the whole way to the end but the Raharney defence backed up by Robert in goal kept them out to earn Raharney a well deserved win. Some excellent performances all over the pitch tonight in what really was a full panel performance but man of the match tonight goes to Robert who commanded his box and was quick off his line on a number of occasions to keep Raharney in front. Special mention tonight to Oisin Finn who made his competitive debut tonight.
