Oldcastle 2 Raharney 2.
Today we travelled to Oldcastle to resume our league after a 6 week break.
Raharney had an early chance Shayne put Daniel through one on one with the keeper but the defence got back to clear. The lads continued to press but it was Oldcastle who took the lead from the penalty spot. Alfie thought he had equalised but his header came back off the crossbar.
Oldcastle doubled their lead before half time to lead 2 0 at the break.
Raharney needed a good start to the second half and they didnt disappoint. We got a deserved goal when Steven scored a wonderful free kick from wide on the left to make 2 1. Oldcastle reacted well but Raharneys defence kept them out. Raharney got their equaliser when Kon was put through and he finished well for his third goal in 3 games.
Both Kon an Jack had chances to make it 3 but the Oldcastle center backs stayed strong.
Both teams pushed hard late on for a winner but the score remained 2 2.
An excellent display of football from boths side today and a draw was probably a fair result.
Tough decision for man of the Match with some excellent performances throughout the team especially in the second half but Evan Mcgreal just shades it with an excellent performance at left back.
A quick mention for Sam Donoghue today on his league debut unfortunately Sam pucked up an injury after 15 minutes hope you have a speedy recovery.
