Match Report Youths Eolas D 2 Raharney vs Ballivor.

Today we started the new Eolas youth’s division 2 season with a home game against Ballivor. Raharney selected 15 players from a large squad and all players were required in a tough physical battle. The game started at a hectic pace with lots of full blooded tackles. Ballivor took the lead after 10 minutes when a through ball allowed their striker score. The game continued as a battle with a through ball allowing Adam Glynn drive into the box where he was fouled for a penalty to Raharney. Shayne made no mistake 1 all, after 23 minutes. It was nip and tuck for the rest of the first half, with Raharney giving nothing away at the back and playing nice football out wide. Raharney forced a corner just on halftime, kon scored from close in after an excellent delivery by Stephen. Two, one up at the break. Second half again was tight, both sides tired and the Raharney bench helped to keep the lead intact. Neither team created any chance of note in the second half, with Raharney seeing out the game to open the season with a win. Man of match is a hard call, the 3 midfielders (Alfie, Shayne & Daniel) battled all game, Robert in goal never put a foot wrong, but today Kundai deserves man of match where everyone contributed to a great win.
