Raharney v Walsh Island

Raharney welcomed Walsh Island to Higginstown on Saturday to play the league leaders.

Raharney were without any goalkeeper and Eoin Daly stepped in from outside left.

Raharney started the game as if they were on a mission.

Raharney were dictating the pace and were playing lovely football to heap the pressure on the visitors.

Raharney went ahead with a stunning goal from Tadgh Kennedy after good work down the right hand side.

Raharney were showing no mercy and went 2 up with a brilliantly struck free kick from Dylan Dixon.

Cian Mc Keogh was tormenting the midfield with his selfless running.

The second half started with the visitors pulling a goal back straight from tip off.

They pulled level from a free kick that Raharney were slow to clear.

Raharney to their credit we’re still trying to play their passing game and stand in goalkeeper Eoin Daly was having the game of his life as he constantly snuffed out danger with stunning saves and excellent distribution.

Walsh Island went ahead 2-3 and they were happy to settle for that score.

This Raharney team have a new found belief and pushed to get an equaliser and we’re duly rewarded when Dylan Dixon scored his second.

It was all Raharney as they pushed for the win but they ran out of time.

An excellent performance from all the team as they go 3 unbeaten.
