Portlaoise Rvs v Raharney Utd U14s

Raharney travelled to Portlaoise for a return game which they lost 4-3 in Higginstown.
Raharney started very well and pinned Portlaoise in their own half from the off.The front two Jack Barry and Dylan Dixon working the defence all the time.
Raharney hit the post with a cracking shot from Dylan and Jack Barry swept home the rebound.
Raharney were hungry for goals and their confidence was building.
They got one more goal before half time from Eoghan Daly as Cian Mc Keogh was covering every blade of grass behind the frontline to assist in the making of the goal. Aaron Connaire was comfortable and assured on the ball and his passing was impeccable.
After the break Portlaoise started to put in niggling tackles to try to disrupt Raharney but to no avail as Raharney went 4-0 up with Jack Barry second goal and a cracking header from Connor Clearly, at this point the referee had issued 3 yellow cards to Portlaoise.
Raharney continued to press and Cian Mc Keogh was very unlucky with a driving run from midfield that the goalkeeper saved at his feet.
Dylan Dixon got the goal of the game with a rocket of a shot from a near Impossible angle on the edge of the 18 yard box to make it Raharney 5th goal.
Portlaoise we’re fouling all the time and played in a very undisciplined manner with one red brandished at the final whistle.
Raharney’s goal scorers were
Eoin Daly x1
Dylan Dixon x1
Conor Cleary x 1
Jack Barry x 2
A great win for Raharney and they thoroughly deserved their win for a great team performance.
Man of the match goes to
Cian Mc Keogh for his tireless running and all round play.
Well done lads.
