U11's Raharney United v Castlevilla
A gloomy autumn day set the tone today as our U11's travelled to the MDL grounds for the penultimate game of the season. As with previous games between the two sides, a tough game was expected as both sides looked to wind down the season on a high, and neither side disappointed.
Sprinkles of rain greeted the opening kickoff, and an end to end first half took hold with some great football being played by both sides. The first half saw a number of goals, but more so the plethora of chances as both sides went for it. Opportunities created at both ends saw goalkeepers being brought into action, as well as posts, to keep the scoreline close.
The second half continued in the same vein, as some excellent individual play was complimented by good old fashioned midfield battles, as neither side was willing to give an inch. The goals continued to come, chances kept being created, and both teams battled to the end in a game that gave as much as it as promised in the buildup, and the watching crowd was well entertained.
It has become a hallmark of this Raharney team to dig in and battle, as their confidence has continued to grow through this first season as a team, and we're sure this will continue in the years to come.
Raharneys goals today were scored by Toby, his first for the team.
We thank Castlevilla for today's game, and I'm sure we'll meet again in years to come.
Today's squad: Eric, Luke, Noah L, Jack, Blake, Finn, Toby, Ethan, TJ, Colin, Luke CD.
