First game for our new Raharney Senior lads! Great start from the team who had started the match strong by dominating the open stages. Solid back four led by captain Jamie Greville seen the lads play out from the back and start attacks midfield with Jordan Hillick and Shayne Monaghan holding strong, giving Nick Gordon on debut play through ball to Evan McGreal who was brought down and awarded a penalty within the first 10 minutes. Stephen Pepper stepped up to make it 1 up for Raharney, sending the keeper the wrong way.
The team continued to dominate with Dylan McCarthy Carroll who was the deserved man of the match! ⚽
Just before the break Summerhill got the bounce of the ball and it fell to there number 10 who slotted home well. Second half started even with both teams looking to attack, it was an open game and with 15 mins to go a chip from the Summerhill player put them up 2 - 1. Soon after 3 - 1 with a well stricken free kick which went past Kon Gearathy who was excellent all game!
The lads didn’t give up and were unlucky with two late efforts! One just passed their post off the Summerhill defender and the second just over the bar from the impressive Nathan Clarke.
The lads will continue their hard work and be back stronger next week! ⚽
